Krista Marrero walks briskly into the Mangat Getty Mart in Lancaster one recent morning, calling to Kirpal Mangat as she heads for the back of the store.
"I came in for coffee," Marrero says.
"I just made it fresh!" Mangat responds. Turning around to face the front of the counter, Mangat notes Marrero and her husband Ron are longtime patrons.
"Her family shops here all the time," Mangat says. "She and her-husband quit smoking. Even though I'm losing money (on cigarette sales), I'm very happy. I appreciate that they have the determination to stop."
Marrero, who lives nearby, walks up to the counter with her coffee. She chats amiably with Mangat for a few minutes …
